With my cousin's bachelorette party a day away, I've been thinking about how cool it's going to be to have my sister and 3 cousins sleep over at my place for the whole weekend. Since my cousin isn't the drinking/bar-hopping type, she's decided to celebrate the loss of her freedom at the happiest place on earth [Disney World]. I'm making shirts for everyone to wear. See below for the screen's test run.

As you can see (if you click the pic for the magnified version), I had some kinks to work out of it as I made this screen before I realized that I could mix a tiny amount of paint into my glue to better see where the glue is being laid down. If you want to learn this nifty method of making screen-printed T-shirts, go here.

Anyway, thinking about my cousin getting married leads me to think about my cousin having kids. Thinking about my cousin having kids leads me to think about what kind of an aunt I would be. I assume that my "off-beat personality" and self-proclaimed black sheep status would put me somewhere between "really cool aunt that gives great gifts and always makes me laugh" and "crazy aunt that mom doesn't invite to Christmas dinner." I'm serious, part of me thinks that the conservative side of my cousin is going to do everything in her power to not let her kids get near me because she knows I'll probably corrupt them. Which is ironically hilarious (or hilariously ironic) because she was singing just as loud as I was when we taught our 4 year old cousin the lyrics to that Meredith Brooks song. You know, the one that goes "I'm a BITCH, I'm a lover ...." I can't believe that was already 8 years ago.

...

I probably don't have to worry about all this stuff for a few years. She's specifically told me that she's in no hurry to have kids. Probably because she already has enough kids to deal with (she's a 4th grade teacher). I told her to pick up the pace because I'm chomping at the bit to knit some baby clothes.
