2003-05-17 . 1:28 a.m. - armadillos, the matrix, and calling my heritage into question
«rusted & used . shiny & new»
I am Marcela's awe-inspiring experience.
There was no parking in the front parking lot, so I went around back & parked there. As I was walking up to the building, I noticed something moving around in the shaddows. Armadillo. I'd only seen them as a smashed up blur on the side of the highway before ... but I recognized the figure right away. "I wonder how close I can get before I scare it off?" The answer to that question is pretty damn close. It was the coolest thing I'd seen in a long time ... it wasn't a program, it wasn't a techie toy ... it was an animal ... it was part of nature ... and it was damn cool. When I walked up to it, it was too busy digging its face into the ground trying to find some food to even notice me ... but after a few seconds s/he knew what was up and scampered off to a safer location. I didn't let up, I followed it around for a couple of minutes, hoping that Neutron would drive up soon (I was expecting him as we had both been driving home from the movie theater and he had to drop our friend off at home) ... but he didn't. So when my little armoured friend started running for some dense bushes (and maybe better food), I went into the house. What a great experience.

Saw Matrix: Reloaded tonight. I think I might have liked it better if it were in book form. I feel that the story has gotten to the point where the fight scenes are too auxillary to the plot ... frivolous. And in a way, I feel like the only reason I really enjoyed the movie is because it'll help me understand Matrix: Revolution.
...
I didn't update on Thursday because wacky clothes girl was looking weirdly normal. Well ... normal compared to her usual getup. She was wearing a multi-shaded green crop top & jeans. However, I did have this to report about my humanities class: my teacher insulted me. She was about to show a video about Renaissance dancing and said "Ok, it's in Italian, but the subtitles are in English, so you guys will be able to understand it." I told myself to not look at the subtitles & see if I could figure out the Italian. Well, turns out, I wouldn't have to, because the tape was actually in Spanish. So a few minutes pass & she goes "So is he really speaking Italian?" and I pipe up "Nope, that's Spanish."
"Are you sure?"
"Uh ... yeah ... I'm Spanish (inwardly: I think I can recognize my first fucking language ... you damn Canuck)."
I told Neutron about it & he couldn't understand why I was insulted ... looking back, neither can I ... but it definitely pissed me off.
...
Okee ... it's way late.
