2002-10-10 . 6:01 p.m. - It's my birthday and I'll be an annoyingly spoiled brat if I want to!

I am Marcela's dissapointment with herself.

::shakes stern looking finger at reflection in mirror:: My last couple of updates have been utter crap AND I haven't updated Suzzi in almost a month. It's laziness ... that's a big DUH ... but what the hell is causing this laziness? Even with my new job at Papa Joe's, I have all the time in the world to clean my room, do homework, update Dland/Suzzi, and perhaps the occasional arts & crafts project (oh yeah, I'm a regular Martha-fucking-Stewart). But do you know what I choose to do with that time? Of course you don't ... unless you spy on me. I'll tell you: I tinker around with Flash making useless animations or buttons and then ... I delete them. So not only is my work unproductive, it's intangible to boot! I have absolutely nothing to show for my 9 hour 'break' between classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays ... unless you count a messy room, a dirty car, and a funky smell coming from under my bed ... wait no, that's from my Monday/Wednesday Killing Spree. Yes, I'm joking; I was just checking to see if you were awake.

...

Ok, so Papa Joe's story: Last night was some little girl's birthday. And do you know how I know this precious nugget of information? Because the little snot nosed brat found it fit to tell the whole gdamn restaurant when she walked in. And just in case there was a deaf person in the vicinity, the big red "BIRTHDAY GIRL" ribbon pinned to her chest would clear up any confusion. Guess whose highly-honored priviledge it was to serve the bday girl's table ... why moi OF COURSE. As I sat the family of four, the bday girl proceded to hang over into the other booth to remind the people at that table that, despite whatever rumors they might have heard, today is, in fact, her birthday. I offer them drinks and a loud plea of "I WANT A SPRITE" assaults my ears. "Sure, and for you?" I ask the bitch bday girl's mother. "SHE WANTS A WATER" another onslaught of words from her general direction. "Oh, and it's my birthday! Are you gonna do anything special for me?"
"We might!" I squeeze through my best shit-eating grin while I ponder whether or not shoving her in a meat grinder could be considered as "something special." Her one saving grace: I served them their food and announced "If you need anything else, my name is Marcela." As I walked away, I heard that oh-so-familiar shrill "BEAUTIFUL NAME!!!" Heh, I'm so easily bought by flattery.

...

Okee, I go now.
